Eimosu's story Part 1

Most people would wonder ‘who on Neopia would voluntarily work for Dr. Sloth?’ Well um –coughs slightly- that would be me.

My name is and always has been Eimosu. I am currently a MerIxi; that is 1/3 Ixi, 1/3 Peophin and 1/3 Human; although I have not always been like this. I was totally human at one point, although I most certainly learned not to do anything that would get on Sloth’s bad side…

I lay silent in my bed, thinking. In Sloth’s ranks, I was in charge of the water tanks – where the Peophin and Jetsam were mostly kept. Only I had access to the area at any time and was the only one who knew how to operate the equipment (even though it was all clearly labelled).

There were these two particular Peophin – one a purple female and the other a red male – that I wish were not in there, that I wish I could release. The purple one was so carefree that I wished she was not held in such confines, she longed for the open sea. The red one though was the complete opposite: very aggressive and one who rather seemed to have a joy for hurting me whenever he got the chance to. I lightly run a finger down the long light scar on my temple as I continued thinking. Most of Sloth’s other aides and allies believed that I was ‘getting soft’ with the water pets, that I wasn’t as hard on them as I used to be. That was probably true, I had realised how harsh I had been to them, and had promised myself that I would never do so again.

Coming to a resolution through the turmoil of my thoughts, I leaped off my bed, grabbing my keys from a nearby hook before throwing a shirt on and leaving the room. Sneaking through the shadows to avoid being seen by any of the patrolling guards, I made my way to the door of the tank room, silently unlocking the door and entering, leaving my keys in the lock. Making sure the lights were low, I made my way to the tank holding the purple Peophin, who turned at my approach and greeted me courteously. Lightly smiling, I signed to her what I was going to do, that I was going to free her. To communicate with an underwater pet – even though ones like Peophin can use a sort of telepathy of sorts – it is easier to teach them to interpret sign language that for them to try and learn our strange language, at least that’s what I decided would be best.

She nodded lightly, swimming about excitedly as I made my way to the Peophin Gate Control. Manipulating a few of the input controls I opened the gate between her tank and the open sea. Swimming in a loop as a sign of gratefulness, she swam through the door and free into the water. Closing the gates quickly I walked off behind the tanks to head for the door when I noticed a pack of guards standing within the doorway. Realising that I had left the keys in the lock, I slapped my head lightly and retreated behind a nearby tank as the guards stalked into the room. I snuck behind a tank beside the one I was already standing behind, hoping I could hide as I made my way to the door, but one of the mutant Grundos must have spotted me, even very briefly, as he stated up a ruckus, alerting the other guards. Briefly looking over my shoulder to see where the guards were, as they came behind the tanks I ran, straight out the door and along the corridor, where the guards took chase. I backed into the shadow of a small side corridor to hide, watching as the guards passed. Sighing with relief as they took off down a separate corridor, I stepped timidly out, looking from side to side to see if I was being watched at all and, after concluding that no one was around, I made a slow walk back to my room, collapsing on my bed as soon as I arrived.

With a light shining upon my face I awakened, blinking my violet eyes a few times to get used to the illumination. I rolled over, away from the light source to come face to face with someone – a ruthless man by the name of Cetrin. It surprised me so much I literally jumped out of bed, the other in my room laughing hard.
“Tet E xnozi uay Eimosu?” He taunted. I just raised an eyebrow at the comment, not very happy about him barging in here just like that. “Uay oxi ec o fad al dzaywfi” he finished, a light smile shone on his face.
“Bvod oq E ec dzaywfi laz Cetrin?” I asked, falsely confused. I had already figured out what he was here for. Cetrin had somehow figured that I had been the one who had freed that Peophin. Cetrin didn’t reply, grabbing hold of my arm and pulling me out of my room. I didn’t even bother to struggle, what would be the point, for I knew where he was taking me. To Dr. Sloth.
Yep, submitting two stories in one day. Well, tis the first of four parts (I think it will end up being 4) of a short verson if Eimosu's story (you think I'm ever going to write out his entire life history you have to be kidding me, even though I have the whole thing in my head)
Basically, this is from the point just before he ended up as a MerIxi, so he is a human, this being the reason that he ended up as a MerIxi. Well, read and enjoy, oh, and the picture up there? Somthing I drew a couple of weeks ago of Eimosu as a human, training with his trident. Its faint but I don't know where the picture has gone so I can outline it using a pen.
